Paraguay 1934 - The 1934 South America Flights of Graf Zeppelin
English Text

In 1934, for use on that year’s zeppelin post, the Paraguayan Post Office overprinted the ‘1933 Zeppelin set’ with the year “1934”, in black. Such an option was the most cost effective solution since at the time Paraguay was involved in the Chaco War against Bolivia and there were huge quantities of that air mail set in stock. Due to limited funds, the Postal Authorities were reluctant in issuing an entirely new zeppelin set but the contract with Syndicato Condor obliged them to do so.
