In 1929, Barcelona hosted an international exhibition (Exposición Internacional de Barcelona) focused on industry developments and the possibilities of Spain in the technology sector. Each country had a week dedicated to it throughout the course of the event, with a highlight of the German week being the flight of the “Graf Zeppelin” airship over Barcelona, on 16 May 1929. On that day, the “Graf Zeppelin” hovered above the Exhibition and then she flew over the city for a few hours dropping mail at various locations.
